Welcome to the Sheonoroil Foundation

The Sheonoroil Foundation is a registered charity supporting research, inquiry, reflection, writing, distribution of information, and interventions focused on addressing all forms of violence in public schools, including anti-violence and peaceful schools initiatives.

Established by the Nova Scotia Teachers Union in 1999, the Foundation operates under the guidance of a Board of Directors. It provides financial support to active and retired members of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union, groups of active or retired NSTU members, and public school students working in collaboration with a teacher or faculty advisor.

Funding grants shall be awarded to anti-violence programs that have a direct and immediate impact on classrooms, students, teachers, faculty, staff, administration, and the broader school community.
