See it and Be It
19-20-SF-01
School: Halifax Regional Arts
Board: HRCE
Project Coordinator: Catherine Thompson
See It and Be It is a photography portrait project that’s purpose is to showcase African Nova Scotian and Indigenous students posing in desired careers that are accessible because of those ANS and Indigenous professionals who are working in those professions and have paved the way for this generation. The portraits in full context will not only show case opportunity but in a less literal way will speak to braking barriers, perseverance, and the internal conflict/struggle that can turn into anger and external violence when one feels held back, less than, and marginalized.
